Mitt Romney to speak at Partnership luncheon on May 30

May 8th, 2007 · No Comments

The Greater Des Moines Partnership’s Government Policy Council will host the third installment of the 2008 Presidential Candidate Series with former Governor of Massachusetts Mitt Romney on Wednesday, May 30. The luncheon will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the Embassy Club, 801 Grand Ave., 40th Floor, downtown. Romney will share his vision for the future of the United States followed by a brief question-and-answer session.

The Partnership’s Government Policy Council has extended an open invitation to prospective presidential candidates from both major political parties to address Central Iowans as a series of forums to be included in the Partnership’s events calendar between now and the 2008 “First in the Nation” Iowa Presidential Caucuses. The Partnership is a non-partisan organization and does not endorse candidates for political office. Members of the business community are invited to utilize this opportunity to meet and evaluate individual candidates, as well as share their vision for Greater Des Moines. Additional dates and times of the forums will be released upon confirmation of the candidates.

The cost to attend the forum is $25 for Partnership members and $30 for non-members. Reservations may be directed to Jessica Walter at (515) 286-4924 or jwalter@desmoinesmetro.com. Media inquiries should be directed to Amanda Steward at (515) 286-4947 or asteward@desmoinesmetro.com.
