Thompson, a Republican, has visited Iowa 32 times; Democrat Edwards has visited 25 times. Democratic front-runners Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton have visited 14 and 9 times, respectively; Republican front-runners Mitt Romney, John McCain and Rudy Giuliani have visited 24, 11 and 7 times, respectively.
