“Cookies & Conversation” to feature media panel Dec. 7

A prominent panel of journalists and political pundits will analyze the Iowa caucus campaigns next Friday as part of the latest Drake University-IowaPolitics.com “cookies and conversation” event.

Confirmed participants include: Rick Pearson, political writer for the Chicago Tribune; M.E. Sprengelmeyer, Iowa’s Bureau Chief for the Rocky Mountain News; David Price, chief political reporter for WHO TV of Des Moines; Drake Professor of Politics Dennis J. Goldford; and Iowa pollster Ann Selzer.

IowaPolitics.com’s Bureau Chief Chris Dorsey, the moderator, will focus on what’s in store for Iowans with the upcoming Jan. 3, 2008 presidential caucuses. State and national media coverage of presidential campaigns also will be discussed.

The event will take place Friday, Dec. 7th at Levitt Hall in Old Main at 2507 University Avenue on the Drake University Campus.

The event, which begins at 11:30 a.m is free and open to the public, but reservations are required due to space limitations.

For reservations call 515.271.3747 or e-mail iowacaucuses@drake.edu. Doors at Levitt Hall, in Old Main at 2507 University Ave., open at 11 a.m. Free parking will be available in Drake parking lots at 26th and University Ave. and 25th and Carpenter Ave.

This is the sixth in a series of “Cookies and Conversation” forums co-sponsored by IowaPolitics.com and Drake University. IowaPolitics.com is a non-partisan news operation offering a free Web site at www.IowaPolitics.com and paid subscriber products. The “Cookies and Conversation” programs are designed to foster interest in Iowa’s political process and give audience members an open forum to ask questions to candidates and others involved in Iowa politics and government. Audience members also are treated to free cookies.

Plans are also being formulated for a future event tentatively scheduled for December 20th.
